Welcome to God’s Country Parish
We are two churches joined by one faith in the love and promise of Jesus Christ. We journey with Him through our worship, our work together and our daily lives. We are always open to a deeper appreciation for our faith in the world around us.
The parish has two very faithful church families. Christ Church-St. Jude’s is set in the village of Ivy. Parishioners gather in Ivy from all over the county of Simcoe to pray and praise God in Jesus Christ. The recent pandemic has not stopped summer services outdoors and our autumn and winter services in our indoor facilities (We use every prescribed precautions.) Christ Church-St. Jude’s has a huge age range from two infant baptisms to those who are in their ‘golden years’. It makes for a very diverse family setting.
St. George’s, Utopia has a highly dedicated and smaller church family. In their case size is only a number. Their hearts are huge in sharing faith and works. They too were outdoor ‘tented’ for summer worship but now indoors for the autumn and winter.
This last year both churches, (The Parish Family) raised 1,400 pounds of food for the needy and gathering 180 shoe boxes for Christmas for children in the developing world. Faith without works is hollow and often ‘self-serving.’ The people of North Essa do both as they journey with their Lord.
You are most welcome to join us in prayer, praise and action, (as you are able.). Sundays are filled with normal in a sense and filled with surprises in another way. The music is always upbeat and the welcomes are always warm and inviting.
The Rev. Terry Bennett
